Attractions Around the City

In order for you to take full advantage of Dublin's beautiful historic city we have put together a list of popular attractions that we suggest you might like to see. 

Dublin is famous for its friendly people and being a quite compact city. It is possible to go from O’Connell Street on the north side of the river Liffey to Grafton Street (the main shopping area) on the south side of the river in about 10 minutes. Walking around the city centre it is the best way to see the old quarters and tourist attractions an to be amazed by this city.
 
 
 
Bridges
 
The River Liffey which runs through the city centre separates the North side from the South side of Dublin City. The best known bridges that cross the river are the Ha'penny Bridge and the O’Connell Bridge, which is wider than it is long. Some of the best-known landmarks north of the Liffey are The Spire and the Customs House, while those on the South side include Dublin Castle and Christchurch Cathedral.
 
 
 
Temple Bar
 
Known for being the home of the Guinness, Dublin is also very famous for its pubs. Around the city there are lots and lots of great pubs, restaurants and cafes and many of them are clustered along the cobblestone streets of Temple Bar in Dublin 2 South of the Liffey. Temple Bar is known as the cultural quarter and you will find a huge variety of restaurants, clubs and bars. It has a online casino vibrant and rocking night life and is even busy during the day.
 
 
 
Guinness Storehouse
 
A visit to the "Home of Guinness" is the number one tourist attraction in Dublin. The tour takes you through the history of the world wide famous beer, whos origin dates back to over 250 years ago. At the end you have a lovely view of the Dublin city in a Sky Bar and a complimentary pint of Guinness!
 
 
 
St.Patricks Cathedral
 
The National Church of Ireland, was originally built as a church in 1192. It was built on the site it was believed that St. Patrick performed his first baptism in Ireland from a well in the grounds, which is still there. The Cathedral is located at the junction of Patrick Street and Upper Kevin Street. It is easily accessible by foot from the city centre.
 
 
 
 
Dublin Castle
 
Dublin Castle is situated in the very heart of Dublin City, on the south side of the River Liffey, off Dame Street, en route from Trinity College to Christchurch Cathedral. From the founding of the first Celtic settlement in the 1st century A.D. to every Presidential inaugration since the foundation of the State, the site has stood witness to some of the most pivotal events in the country's history.
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

Christ Church Cathedral
